A member of the Community for Well-Being asked how she could tell if her Inner Guide was making something happen rather than just have it happen naturally. There are two ways to know whether your Inner Guide has been involved in a life experience.
The First Way
The first way is that you will know because you will find yourself doing something that you never would have thought to do yourself. For example, one day while driving, I made a "wrong turn,” a turn that I never would have thought to make. I thought I'd made a mistake, but it turned out that this was actually a short-cut to get to my destination that I hadn't known about.
How Does Your Inner Guide Know What to Do?
My Inner Guide obviously made that decision. How did she know to influence me to do that? At some point, I had seen map of the city, and therefore the map was registered in my memory bank. I couldn't consciously recall the whole map, of course, but my Inner Guide could and did.
Everything we have ever seen, heard, smelled, tasted, or felt has been registered in our memory banks. We can't access all of these memories because of the mental static we all have that interferes with these perceptions. But our Inner Guides, who are composed only of comfort, have no mental static. That's why they are able to access anything in our memory banks that they determine will be useful to remember.
The Second Way
The second way to know that your Inner Guide has made something happen is to ask it. When I decided to move from Chicago to California, it seemed like a good thing to do, for several reasons. It wasn't obvious that my Inner Guide had anything to do with this decision. But it occurred to me to ask her, and she confirmed that she had influenced me to make this move.
Three Ways to Communicate
How do you ask your Inner Guide a question? You can establish communication with it in three ways:
- Ideomotor signaling, known more colloquially as "finger signals." Go into trance and ask your Inner Guide which finger (or thumb) represents "yes," and a digit will rise or tingle. Then ask which finger (or thumb) represents "no," and a different digit will rise or tingle. Then ask which finger (or thumb) represents "I don't know" or "I don't want to say" and a third digit will rise or tingle.
- Automatic handwriting. Get a paper and pencil, go into trance, and ask your Inner Guide the question you want answered. It will respond by writing something to you.
- Inner thought. Simply ask your Inner Guide in your mind and it will answer with a thought. If you aren't sure whether the thought was your Inner Guide's or just yours, confirm with a finger signal.
About 50% of people can establish communication with their Inner Guides immediately after creating them. For the others, it takes longer.
